Split over 2 continents, home to some of the most fascinating history and the bluest coastline you'll likely ever find, Turkey can offer you everything from a week long resort getaway to an action packed adventure!
If you're looking for a 1 month itinerary to check off everything you possibly can in Turkey then check out our adventure from August 2020 below!
-
The people of Turkey are some of the friendliest and kindest we've met so far! Everybody will talk to you, they will offer you advice and they want to help in any way they can! We ended up with several Turkish men's numbers with requests that we message them for anything we needed whilst in their city!
-
Turkey is a predominately Muslim country - you'll hear the call to Prayer almost everywhere you go! This means the culture is much more conservative than that of a Western country, and girls need to make sure they have appropriate clothing for certain areas. Having said that, shorts and a tank are fine in most places we visited!
-
Turkey has been occupied by just about every ancient empire, and the evidence is all around you in most places!
-
The food is amazing! You will eat more kebab and rice than you have in a while and you won't be bored!
-
The currency is Turkish Lira, and the majority of places are pretty cheap! The super touristy areas such as Bodrum and Antalya are more expensive but that's to be expected.
-
The public transport is generally great! You'll be taking a Dolmas most places you go.
-
Uber is also available in some places such as Istanbul. The only difference is you pay the driver cash.
-
Turkey gets hot - REALLY hot! Plan your month to visit accordingly, if you're looking to get tonnes of hikes in then probably best to avoid late June through to mid September.
